St. Mark works with many organizations in helping to serve those in need in our local communities as well as national and international efforts. Below are just some of the organizations St. Mark partners with in helping our neighbors both near and far. This organization provides quality services and community collaboration to promote safety and freedom from domestic and sexual violence by empowering individuals to define their own lives.
Out of the Cold Centre County is a community supported organization that answers the call to serve those experiencing homelessness in the community by providing shelter, food, and support services during the transition to permanent housing.
The mission of Operation Christmas Child is to provide God’s love in a tangible way to children in need around the world, and together with the local church worldwide, to share the Good News of Jesus Christ.
The St. Mark Connection team started in 2001 and has continued to raise money for the American Cancer Society with various fundraisers. The team also participates in the annual Happy Valley Relay for Life event. In the 20 years, the team has raised more than $80,000.
A Lutheran camp and conference center located in Boswell, PA, Sequanota is a place that grants guests the opportunity to connect to God, to nature, and to others. Whether you come to Sequanota for a retreat, for summer camp, to volunteer, or for an event, you will be sure to form meaningful connections while you are here and take them with you when you go.
Allegheny Lutheran Social Ministries (ALSM) has served individuals and families in our community for 70 years. As a faith-based, not-for-profit organization, our 300+ team members touch the lives of roughly 3,000 people each year. ALSM is the only not-for-profit organization to offer senior living communities and services that span the generations in an eight-county region in Central Pennsylvania.
The Clinton County Community Dental Clinic is a nonprofit agency that supports Clinton County and its surrounding communities. We provide all aspects of dental care from preventative procedures to diagnostic procedures. IE; Cleanings, scaling and root planning, exams, x-rays, fillings, simple extractions, dentures, crowns, and bridges. For anyone in the community who does not carry dental insurance, dental procedure fees are based on household income.
The organization's goal is to provide housing and personal development to assist residents in overcoming barriers to stability and self-sufficiency. The Life Center provides short-term temporary housing for families and individuals who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. The Merit House provides emergency overnight shelter for single adults.
Jana Marie Foundation generates conversations that highlight the importance of mental, emotional, and social well-being. Through the power of dialogues and creative expression, it sparks conversations, builds connections, and promotes mental well-being among young people and their communities. It also offers QPR: Suicide Prevention training.
Centre Safe's mission is to empower survivors of sexual or domestic violence and to work toward elimination of such violence.
Centre Volunteers in Medicine serves and advocates the medically underserved living or working in Centre County. It provides free medical and dental care, medication assistance, and case management services to qualified uninsured residents of Centre County.
St. Mark collects food and donations for its own food pantry and for the Howard Food Bank, located at 44 Vesper Street, Beech Creek. The food bank is open the first Monday of each month from 2 to 4pm. For more information, call 570-962-2407. Additionally, St. Mark participates in the Bellefonte Community Lunch Program that is hosted by Trinity United Methodist Church (128 Howard Street, Bellefonte).
