St. Mark will host a free, one-day educational event addressing sexual violence in the 60+ age community. Centre Safe will present AWARE (Adult Wisdom to Advance Respect and Empowerment) Saturday, January 24.

AWARE is a comprehensive sexual violence education initiative. The workshop is for any adults, including those who are age 60 and older, those who have loved ones or friends who are 60 and older, and caregivers for those who are age 60 and older. The one-day event features four sessions (Recognizing Sexual Violence, Creating Safe Spaces, Bystander Intervention, and Reporting and Resources) that focus on the promotion of healthy social norms and the creation of protective environment for people age 60 or older.
