BLESSING OF PETS AND ANIMALS: St. Mark holds its Blessing of Pets and Animals service 6pm October 1 under the pavilion. All are invited to bring their pets for a blessing. Please have all dogs on leashes. A collection for Centre County PAWS will be taken. The service is held in early October each year, around the time the church remembers Francis of Assisi, who had a spirit of gratitude for all of creation, including pets and animals. FREE BOOK FAIR AND COSTLESS CLOSET EVENT: The annual Free Book Fair and Costless Closet is 9am to 2pm October 3! The event is St. Mark’s biggest community outreach effort each year and features hundreds of books and other media as well as clothes for all ages — all for free! There will be various foods and baked goods for sale that help St. Mark’s Social Action outreach efforts. The Howard Food Bank accepts food donations that help keep families fed in our area. Our outdoor food pantry continues to be a great service to the community.
